Lynnwood, WA. 98087-6734 Case: # COD2009-0030 Subject Property: 720 Melody Lane, Edmonds, WA. 98020 Dear Mr. Yarin, The City has received a complaint regarding garbage, trash and debris outside at the subject property. There is also a trench into the right-of-way along with other engineering requirements to be corrected as outlined below. Because there is not an active building or engineering permit at this site, it is necessary to bring the property in line with building and engineering requirements (permits required) along with nuisance code compliance. The Edmonds City Code (ECC) addresses junk, trash and debris as follows: 6.20.41Aesthetic nuisances The following nuisances are aesthetic in nature and can negatively impact neighborhood property values and foster blight. The following actions and/or conditions shall be a public nuisance when located in any front, side or rear yard or vacant lot. A.Any junk, trash, or litter, B.Salvage materials or lumber not neatly stacked. E. Any accumulation, stack or pile of building, landscaping or construction materials which are exposed to the elements or are in disarray and which are not directly current building permit associated with a project on the premises for which a has been obtained; or, with respect to a project which does not require a permit, that is in progress or which is scheduled to begin within ten (10) business days. Construction materials include but are not limited to metal, wood, wire, drywall, electrical components, and any supplies, equipment or other items utilized for painting, landscaping, logging, roofing, masonry or plumbing. Yarin, 720 Melody Lane, COD2009-0030, 8/12/2009 Corrective actions required by August 25, 2009: Building requirements: Please note that it will be necessary to apply for a new building permit before work can · continue on the structure. At this time, the building needs to be secured from entry. · Engineering requirements: Apply and obtain a right-of-way permit and water service line permit then; · Trench in right of way must be backfilled. · Dirt pile in right of way must be removed. · Utility patches in row must have clean cuts, trench compaction, asphalting level with · grade of driveway approach and must be sealed. Trench on property with water line must be inspected and backfilled. If not renewing · building permit at this time, can obtain a water service line permit to complete this work. Cover all exposed dirt. Straw or bark is an accepted inexpensive solution. · Nuisance Issues: Please contact me at your earliest convenience by August 18, 2009. An Order to Correct · (OTC) will be issued if no contact is made. Remove any junk, trash, litter and debris. Neatly stack any salvage materials or lumber · or remove.
