Project Address: 7826 187th PL SW
Scope: garage conversion to bedroom
Thank you for submitting your plans to the City of Edmonds for review. We have completed an
initial review of the project mentioned above. For this project to move forward a few items will
need to be addressed.
Once a revised set of plans, including a written response to the list of the items contained in this
letter are resubmitted, we can complete the review. Some items may require a review by other
divisions, such as Planning, Engineering, or Fire and will be noted as such.
Resubmittals can be made at the Development Services Department on the 2nd Floor of City
Hall. Permit Center hours are M, T, Th, & F from 8am-4:30pm and from 8:30am-12pm on
Wednesdays.
To complete the review the following items will need to be addressed:
Sheet “Proposed Ground Floor Plan”:
1. Garage and living space fire separation. New wall at rear of garage, creating new living
space, must be fire rated construction and include a detail of separation wall between garage
and habitable space. Not less than 1/2-inch gypsum board or equivalent applied to the garage
side. Please include this detail on sheet A104.
2. It appears the top detail on A104 represents the interior wall construction. Please identify all
components including ½” gyp board garage side for fire separation from the bedroom.
Identify type of anchor bolts, sheeting and other materials used in the construction of the
wall.
