RESPONSE TO Engineering 1+CECIL September 20, 2019 JoAnne Zulauf Engineering Division 121 51h Avenue N Edmonds, WA 98020 RE: BLD20180887 — Mazda Service Center Response to Review Comments (Engineering) Dear JoAnne: We have reviewed the engineering comments memorandum dated September 3, 2019. The civil plans and reports have been revised accordingly to address the City's comments shown in the letter. The City's comments have been copied below. Below, comment responses and a description of plan updates has been added after each comment as applicable. Please review and verify that we have adequately addressed each comment. 1. Please show a domestic water line from the meter to the building. RESPONSE: The water service has been added to the plans. 2. Is retaining wall drainage connecting to the footing drains? Please clarify. RESPONSE: The retaining wall is part concrete block and part building foundation (west side of the building). We anticipate footing drainage will be routed south along the concrete retaining wall and connected to CB #1. The south -side of the building will not be connected to the west retaining wall. However, the system connects on the north side of the building. 3. Revise to show CB #9 and CB #10 will not be installed per conversations with Zack. RESPONSE: Done. We have provided an alternative stormwater approach and will document in the stormwater report. We look forward to hearing a response to see if the engineering comments have been addressed. We will do our best to coordinate, as needed, between the multiple permits and projects. Thanks in advance. John C. Farleigh, P.E.
