Scope: Addition/Deck/Remodel
Thank you for submitting your plans to the City of Edmonds for review. We have completed an
initial review of the project mentioned above. For this project to move forward a few items will
need to be addressed.
Once a revised set of plans, including a written response to the list of the items contained in this
letter are resubmitted, we can complete the review. Some items may require a review by other
divisions, such as Planning, Engineering, or Fire and will be noted as such.
Resubmittals can be made at the Development Services Department on the 2nd Floor of City
Hall. Permit Center hours are M, T, Th, & F from 8am-4:30pm and from 8:30am-12pm on
Wednesdays.
To complete the review the following items will need to be addressed:
Sheet A 1.01
1. Energy Efficiency Credit. To claim credit ALL faucets and shower heads should be
identified on the plans. A note on faucet and shower head as “Typ” on plans, is acceptable
R406.2 Additional energy efficiency requirements.
Sheet A 2.11
2. Glazing in doors 103 and 201 should be identified as safety glass (SG). R308.4.1 Glazing
in Doors
3. Sidelight glass at slider second floor should be safety glass on the fixed panel side of the
slider only. R308.4.2 Glazing Adjacent to Doors (exception 4).
4. New range in new location on plans. Please indicate the CFM of the exhaust fan and note
that it is vented to the outside. Also include any makeup air as required Section M1901
Ranges and Ovens.

5. Window “1” at rear lower deck should be designated safety glass (SG). R308.4.2 Glazing

6. Please include stair detail for both sets of new stairs attached to the deck. Include
dimensions for stair risers and treads, and handrail and guard dimensions.
Sheet S 2.0
7. Plans show foundation to be matched to existing using epoxy and dowels. Please indicate
how many dowels at each tie in point.
