spEcIAL INSPECTIONS REQUIREDT Special inspections are required for this project, as applicable,
in accordance with Title 1g Edmonds Community Deveiopment Code (ECDC). When required, the project
must be installed/constructed per approved plans and spãcifications. The owner or the registered design

this agreement and return to a Permit Coordinator prior to permit issuance.

1. OBSDRVE \ryORK
The special inspector shall observe the site work for conformance with the approved (stamped) plans
and specificatiäns. Special inspections are to be performed as needed, to confirm that the work
being completed meets specifications and approved plans'

2. REPONT NONCONFORMING ITßMS
Tho spocial inspesto¡ shail bring non-confomdng items to thß immediate attontion ofthe contractor
aud engineer of rccord. The special inspector shall provide a report to the Engineering Division
notifying of any items not resolved and/or not installed per the approved plans and spccifioations.
Items not constn¡sted per the approved plans and specifications will result in a rsview of the plans
to deteruine what requirements will be needed for the projest to meet the ncc¡ssary stomwater
requirements; such as removal and rcconsürction, rodesign of the stormwater rnarragement
system(s), ctc.
Final approval for the project wi[ not occtn until installation of all required improvements is
complete and accepted by the Special Inspector and the City.

The special inspector or inspection agençy shall submit a final signed rcport or Certificate of
Complianoe to the City stating that all items requiring special inqpection and testing were fi¡lfilled
and reported. The rçport shall also includc a staternent from the inspector stating to the best of
hidlrer knowledge the project is in conformance with the approved plans, specifications, and
approved plan revisions, if any. Itcms not in conformance, unresolved items or af,y discrepancies
in inspoction coverage (i.e., missed rnspections, periodic inspection when continuous inspections
were required, etc,) shall be specifically addressed in this rÊport.

It is tho duty of the contractor to notify the qpecial inspector when work is ready for special
inspection Note, the items listed undu the statement of special inspection on the building permit
and as noted on the approved ptans and specifications are required ûo have spccial inspections.
Adequate notice shalt be provided by the contactor so that thc spe¿ial inspector has time to bæome
familiar with the projeot. All work ¡equiring special inspestion must be approved prior to concealing
or oovering said work.
2. PROVIDE ACCDSS TO APPROVED PII\NS
The contractor is responsible for providing tho special inspector âccess to approved plans at the
jobsite.
3. RETAIN SPECIAL INSPECTION RDCORIIS
The conbasûor is responsible to retain at the jobsiæ all special inspection records subrnitted by the
special inspector. Thcse records are to be pmvided to the City Engineering inspector weekly or as
performed upon rÊqu€st and upon completion of work.

1. /\PPROVE SPECIAL INSPECTION
The Engineering,Division shall approve all Speeial Inspectors and special inspection requircments.
2, MONTTOR SPECTAL INSPECTTONS AND APPROVE REPORTS
Work requiring special inspection and performance of special inspætors shall be monitored by the
Engineering Division Inspector. Engineedng Inspector approval must be obtained prior to
backñlling or other similar activities in addition to that of the special inspector.
3. FINALAPPROVAL
The Engineøing Division may provide final inspcction approval after the special inspection
report(s) have been submittcd and acceptod by the City.
