02-02-21 Council Public Hearing Notice Draft Tree Regulations` PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE EDMONDS CITY COUNCIL On February 2, 2021, the Edmonds City Council will hold a public hearing regarding the following issue: The City Council will hold a public hearing on draft tree regulations being considered by the City of Edmonds. The intent of the tree regulations update is to implement the Urban Forest Management Plan (UFMP) that was adopted in 2019. A goal of the UFMP is to "Update tree regulations to reduce clearcutting or other development impacts on the urban forest and to consider tree replacement requirements and penalties for code violations." The draft tree regulations address this goal as well as another UFMP goal of establishing a City Tree Fund. The draft regulations are primarily provided in a new Chapter 23.10 ECDC, a new Chapter 3.95 in City Code for the Tree Fund establishment, and a new section in the subdivision Chapter 20.75 ECDC for design flexibility to retain more trees with development. The City Council meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Council Chambers, Public Safety Complex, 250 5t" Avenue North, Edmonds, Washington. At the time and place stated above, all interested parties will be heard, however, there will be a time restriction for oral comment. Written comments are welcomed prior to or at the public hearing.
