Hello,
we won't need to cross the fire hydrant. It is far enough out of the way and we also wont need traffic
control. We have room in the owner's driveway and we also don't need to close down any sidewalks.

Hi Marissa,
I have reviewed the application. I will need a bit more information to proceed with my review.
The City's GIS Map can be used for reference, but utility locations are all approximate. That
being said, from Google street view, it appears that the fire hydrant may be located further west
than the GIS map indicates. If that is the case, then I will need to know if the boring is in front of
or behind the hydrant. If the proposed boring is behind the hydrant, Comcast would need to get
10' of horizontal separation from the hydrant. If in front of the hydrant, 5' horizontal separation
would be preferred but less could be permitted depending on how close it is. I will not
necessarily need a survey to have these questions answered, just an updated site plan based on
field visit(s) could suffice.
o Please submit a revised site plan that shows the accurate location of the hydrant and
shows where the boring is proposed (e.g. in soft surface or the asphalt walkway). If you
have photos from a field visit that could help me in my review.
Is a lane closure proposed for the work? The submitted TCP states shoulder closure, but there is
not much of a shoulder at this location. Would you be closing a lane of traffic or closing the
asphalt walkway? If the walkway will be closed, please submit a TCP that addresses a pedestrian
detour route to have pedestrians cross at the nearest designated intersections.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
Natalie
