I have reviewed this building permit application on behalf of the Planning Division. During review, it
was found that the following corrections need to be addressed. Please submit updated plans with
changes called out, any requested reports, and summarize the changes in a cover letter:
Critical area checklist: Because the proposed project involves ground disturbance, please
submit a completed critical area checklist for the site (as found in Handout P20). A checklist
was done in 2002 but since it has been more than 5 years, a subsequent checklist is required
($55 review fee).
2. Purpose: Verify that the purpose of the proposed generator is for standby use during power
outages only.
3. Site plan: Submit a site plan for the proposed project consistent with Handout B57. Show
and label general types and approximate heights of existing landscaping screening the
project area (e.g. 8' hedge, 20' evergreen, etc.).
4. Fence height: The maximum height for fences in Edmonds is 6 feet as measured from
ground level to the top of any portion of the fence and post. Revise Sheet A-4 (and other
affected sheets) to show a compliant 6-foot fence.
5. Noise compliance: Update the note in Detail 1 on Sheet A-4 regarding sound attenuation of
a 6-foot fence versus the 8-foot. Verify that the noise standards in Chapter 5.30 of the
Edmonds Community Code (ECC) will be met in all circumstances.
