AN ORDINANCE LEVYING THE GENERAL :TAXES FOR THE
CITY. OF EDMONDS FOR THE :FISCAL YEAR .COMMEN.CING
JANUARY 1, 1970, ON ALL PROPERTY.,: BOTH: REAL AND
PERSONAL, IN SAID CITY, SUBJECT TO TAXATION FOR
THE PURPOSE OF RAISING SUFFICIENT REVENUE TO
CARRY. ON THE SEVERAL DEPARTMEN.T.S. OF SAID CITY
FOR THE ENSUING YEAR AS REQUIRED BY LAW;. AND
PROVIDING FOR THE .COLLECTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the .City. of Edmonds
having ascertained the :amounts necessary and available to.
be raised by taxation of real, personal and utility prop-
erty, now, therefore,
THE .CITY. COUNCIL OF. THE CITY. OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
DO. ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There shall be and hereby is levied on
all real, personal and utilitypropertyin the .City of
Edmonds, subject to taxation,current taxes for the .ensuing
year commencing January 1, 1970, the sum of $4.7.6,-377.09.
(which is 16 mills, or 13.1 adjusted mills in application
of RCW 84.54.020,as amended) for the current expense
fund and for the .Fireman's Pension Fund as may be necessary
to maintain the .actuarial soundness of said Fireman's Pension
Fund, if any.
Section 2.. In addition to the above .levies for the
ensuing fiscal year 1970, there shall be and hereby is levied
current taxes of'$35,992.50 (which is approximately a 1.3263
mill property tax on an assessedvaluation of $27,137,084.00.
the purpose of which is to retire the.. outstanding obligation
incurred by the City for Refunding General. Obligation Bonds
which retired bonds that had been issued after an affirmative
vote of the citizens in favor of the construction of Fire
Station No.:2 .for said City and the ,construction of the
Edmonds Civic Center.
Section 3. In .addition tothe ab.ove levies for the.
ensuing fiscal year 1970',. there shall be and hereby is
levied current taxes of $.47,`435•.00. (which is approximately
a 1.3003 mill property tax on an assessed valuation of
$36,.479'•,867.00)'. the purpose of which is to retire the out-
standing obligation incurred by the City after an affirm-
ative vote of the citizens in favor of the acquisition of
public parks.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be certified tothe
proper County. Officials, as provided by law, and the taxes
here levied shall be collected and paid to. th:e City.
Treasurer •of the City of Edmonds, at thetime and in the.
manner provided by the laws of the .State of Washington for
the .collection of taxes for third class cities.
