AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 6.20.030, SEWER SERVICE
CHARGES, OF CHAPTER 6.20, TITLE 6, OF THE EDMONDS CITY
CODE BY INCREASING THE CHARGES PROVIDED FOR BY THE SAID
ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, portions of the sewer system installed do not meet
existing Water Pollution Control Commission standards and thus necessitate
substantial reconstruction to conform with Commission standards, and
WHEREAS, additional revenues will be necessary in order to effec-
tuate the 1965 Comprehensive Storm Sewer Plan, and
WHEREAS, the entire citizenry of the City of Edmonds will be
benefited by the installation of an effective storm sewer system, and
WHEREAS, additional revenues are necessary to implement the 1965
Comprehensive Sewage Plan and Sewage Collection System, and
WHEREAS, the entire citizenry of the City of Edmonds will be
benefited and served by the implementation of the Comprehensive Sewage
Plan and Sewage Collection System, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds has classified
the rates to be charged by considering the following factors: the differ-
ence in cost of service to the various customers; location of the various
customers within and without the City; the difference in cost of mainte-
nance, operation, repair and replacement of the various parts of the
system; the different character of the service furnished to various custo-
mers; the quantity of the service furnished; and capital contributions
made to the system including, but not limited to assessments, and
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds has published a notice of public
hearing on the matter of the proposed amendment, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds held public
hearings on Wednesday, November 12, 1969 and Thursday, November 20, 1969,
now therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Edmonds City Code, Section 6.20.030, Sewer
Service Charges, Chapter 6.20, Title 6, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"6.20.030 Sewer Service Charges. A. GENERALLY. The sewer
service charges hereinafter set forth shall be added to and
made a part of monthly rates for water supplied through the
meters as hereinbefore set forth:

Section 2. This ordinance shall be in fill force and effect
five days after its passage and publication as provided by
law.
