AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING ORDINANCE, SECTION
12.13.330.MAKING PETROLEUM PRODUCTS STORAGE,
DISTRIBUTION AND MANUFACTURING WITHIN THE IN-
DUSTRIAL PARK CLASSIFICATION SUBJECT TO CON-
DITIONAL USE PERMIT GRANT BY THE PLANNING COM-
MISSION UNDER THE EXISTING CRITERIA APPLIED
BY THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds,
pursuant to Planning Commission Resolution No. 325 called
a public hearing and thereat determined that review
under the criteria of a conditional use permit grant
should be utilized for petroleum products storage,
distribution and manufacturing, but that the most ex-
peditious method of review would be before the Planning
Commission of said City, and found it to be in the best
interests and the public health, safety and welfare to
amend the zoning ordinance as set forth below, now,
therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 12.13.330 of the Edmonds City Code be and
the same hereby is amended to read as follows:
Section 12.13.330 Permitted Uses (IP). In an
IP Zone the following uses are permitted as hereinafter
specifically provided and allowed by this section, subject
to the general provisions and exceptions set forth in this
title.
A. Manufacturing. Fabrication and/or processing
of products, the process or end product of
which conforms with applicable limitations of
use and does not cause physical hazard, such
as fire or explosion, to any adjacent building
or plant growth on any land adjacent to the site
where such use is conducted, provided, however,
that none of the following uses shall be permitted:
1. Distillation of bone;
2. Fat rendering;
3. Manufacture of acid, cement, chemicals,
explosives or fireworks, fertilizer, gas,
glue, gypsum, lime or plaster of paris;
4. Reduction, canning, or processing of
fish or animal products of any kind;
5. Smelting of ore;
6. Stockyard or slaughter of animals;
B. Warehouses, distribution centers and accessory
storage, including freight handling, but excluding
the handling or storage of explosives or fireworks;
C. Paint shop, spray or other; provided operation
is carried on entirely indoors and that vent -
carried paint residues shall fall only within
the limits of the establishment's property;
D. Laboratories, and research organizations;
E . Banks;
F. Municipal and public utility structures and
facilities;
G. Petroleum products storage, distribution and
manufacturing, subject to conditional use permit
grant by the Planning Commission which Commission
shall utilize that criteria set forth in section
12.16.080 (Conditional Use Criteria) of the Ed-
monds City Code;
H. Gas stations;
I. Restaurants, as a secondary use.
