AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING ORDINANCE, SECTION,
12..13.150,. BY REMOVING DUPLEXES, APARTMENTS AND
RELATED USES FROM THE PERMITTED PRIMARY USES IN
NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS (BN) ZONES PURSUANT TO
PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 329.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds,
Washington pursuant to Planning Commission Resolution
No. 329 called a public hearing and thereat found it
to be in the best interest and the public health,
safety and welfare .to amend the Edmonds zoning ordin-
ance as set forth below, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS;
Section 12.13:150 of the Edmonds City Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
12.13.150 Permitted uses in BN' districts. In
a BN zone only the following uses are permitted as
hereinafter specifically provided and allowed by
this section, subject to the general provisions and
exceptions set forth in this zoning code.
A. Retail enterprises dispensing on -premises
food, services, or commodities except commercial
garages, used car lots, taverns, theaters, auditoriums,
undertaking establishments, and secondhand stores;
and which may involve only incidental repair or
fabrication of services or commodities on the premises.
B. Business offices, professional offices and
clinics and any type of enterprise rendering profes-
sional or personal services not elsewhere herein
excluded, provided.
(1) The professional service does not
include commercial kennels or animal hospitals.
(2). The professional service does not
involve keeping the person receiving the ser-
vice overnight on the premises.
C. Residential, as regulated in R districts,
excluding two family (duplex) dwellings, multiple
family dwellings, apartments, cooperatives and condo-
miniums.
D. Public utility installations relating directly
to local distribution of services including switching
and transmission stations except warehouses, service
yards,,and transportation for freight.
E. Public off-street parking facilities, whether
publicly or privately owned and operated, provided any
area so used shall not be used for a vehicle, trailer
or boat sales area or for the .accessory storage of
such vehicles
F . Clubs
G. Public office buildings, art galleries,museums,
libraries, police and fire stations.
H. Self-service coin -operated laundry and dry
cleaning establishments.
I. Drive-in businesses, subject to conditional use
permit grant.
