ORDINANCE NO. 2518
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 8.64.065 RELATING TO PARKING
TIMES TO DELETE PROVISIONS REGARDING THE WEST
SIDE OF OCEAN AVENUE, AMENDING THE PROVISIONS
OF 8.64.030 RELATING TO PARKING PROHIBITED AT
ALL TIMES TO INCLUDE A NEW SUBSECTION PROHIBIT-
ING ALL PARKING ON THE WEST SIDE OF OCEAN
AVENUE, PROVIDING FOR A SUNSET PROVISION IN
ORDER THAT THE PARKING LIMITATION WOULD EXPIRE
JANUARY 1, 1986, AMENDING SECTION 8.52.065
RELATING TO VISITOR PARKING TO DELETE REFER-
ENCES TO OCEAN AVENUE AND FIXING A TIME WHEN
THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the Edmonds City Council has reviewed the
concerns of private property owners regarding persons parking on
Ocean Avenue and trespassing on private property located adjacent
thereto, and
WHEREAS, the Edmonds City Council determines that Ocean
Avenue is a local access dead-end street with adequate private
parking for the use of residents in the area, now, therefore,
FOLLOWS:
THE CITY COUNCIL OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS
Section 1. Section 8.64.065 of the Edmonds City Code
relating to limited parking times on certain streets is amended
by the deletion of subparagraph 7, thereof. The City Clerk for
the purposes of recodification is hereby instructed and
authorized to renumber existing subparagraph 8 to subparagraph 7.
Section 2. Section 8.64.030 of the Edmonds City Code
relating to Schedule III Parking Prohibited at All Times on
Certain Streets, is amended by the addition of a new subparagraph
25 relating to the imposition of a no parking zone on the west
side of Sunset Avenue to read as follows:
8.64.030 Schedule III - Parking Prohibited at All
Times on Certain Streets.
25. The west side of Ocean Avenue. This provision
shall expire and be void on its terms on January
1, 1986.
Section 3. The City Clerk, for the purposes of
codification, is hereby instructed to delete subparagraph 25 on
or after January 1, 1986.
Section 4. Section 8.52.065 of the Edmonds City Code
relating to Visitor Parking on Certain Streets is amended to read
as follows:
8.52.065 Visitor Parking on Certain Streets
Visitors permits shall be issued by the City Clerk to
residents of Sunset Avenue, and the portion of 75th
Place West, north of North Meadowdale Road, without
showing a lack of off-street parking or vehicle
ownership. Such visitors permits shall be issued at no
cost to the applicant. Such visitors permits shall be
limited to two permits per household or residence.
These permits shall only be valid for parking after the
posted hours on the west side of Sunset Avenue from
Bell Street to Casper Street. Such permits shall be
valid on either side of 75th Place West, north of North
Meadowdale Road. All other provisions of this chapter,
where not inconsistent with this section, shall apply.

Section 5. This ordinance or a summary thereof
consisting of the title, shall be published in the official
newspaper of the City and shall take effect and be in full force
thirty (30) days after the date of publication.
