AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WP_SHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 8.66.040(2) OF THE EDMONDS
CITY CODE, REQUIRING THE OPERATOR OF A MOTORCYCLE
TO WEAR CERTAIN SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND ESTABLISH-
ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF SAID ORDINANCE.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 8.66.040 (2) and Ordinance
No. 1328 passed on September 19, 1967, are hereby amended
to read as follows:
8.66.040 Safety Equipment. It is unlawful in
the City:
(2) for any person to operate a motorcycle or
motor driven cycle which does not have a windshield
unless the operator wears glasses, goggles, or a
face shield of a type approved by the Washington
State Commission on Equipment;
Section 2. Anyone violating this Ordinance shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine in a
sum not to exceed $500 or confinement in the City Jail for a
term not to exceed 90 days, or by both such find and imprison-
ment.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall
become effective five (5) days after the date of publication.
