ORDINANCE NO. 2593
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
LEVYING THE GENERAL TAXES FOR THE CITY OF
EDMONDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING
JANUARY 1, 1987, ON ALL PROPERTY, BOTH REAL AND
PERSONAL, IN SAID CITY WHICH IS SUBJECT TO TAXA-
TION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING SUFFICIENT
REVENUE TO CARRY ON THE SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS OF
SAID CITY FOR THE ENSUING YEAR AS REQUIRED BY
LAW, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL
BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds
having considered the City's anticipated financial requirements
for 1987, and the amounts necessary and available to be raised
by ad valorem taxes on real, personal and utility property,
now, therefore,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2500, passed by the City
Council on June 11, 1985, and approved by the voters at a
special election held November 5, 1985, directs that an
additional regular tax on all property in the City shall be
collected for the provision of emergency medical care and
services, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There shall be and hereby is levied on all
real, personal, and utility property in the City of Edmonds,
subject to taxation, current taxes for the ensuing
commencing January 1, 1987, and the sum of $2,379,445 -
which is $Mlb per $1,000. of assessed valuation levied on
year
property with an estimated assessed valuation of

$1 ,180,340,943 of all said taxable property, for the Current
Expense Funds and for the Firemen's Pension Fund as may be
necessary to maintain the actuarial soundness of said Firemen's
Pension Fund, if any be needed.
Section 2. In addition to the above levies for the
ensuing fiscal year of 1987, there shall be and is hereby
levied current taxes of $295,085 , which is $0.25 dollars
per $1,000. of assessed valuation levied on property with an
estimated assessed valuation of $ 1,180,340,943 of all
said taxable property, the purpose of which is to fund the
provision of emergency medical care and services.
Rection 3. This ordinance shall be certified to the
proper County Officials, as provided by law, and taxes here
levied shall be collected to pay to the Administrative Services
Director of the City of Edmonds at the time and in the manner
provided by the laws of the State of Washington for the
collection of taxes for non -chartered code cities.
Section 4. This ordinance, being an exercise of a
power specifically delegated to the City legislative body, is
not subject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days
after passage and publication.
