AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 4 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1663 AND
SECTION 5.04.060 OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE RELATING
TO REQUIREMENTS OF LICENSES FOR DOGS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 4 of Ordinance No. 1663 of the City
of Edmonds and Section 5.04.060 of the Edmonds City Code are
hereby amended to read as follows:
5.04.060 Dogs Excluded from License Requirements.
Any person who owns, harbors or maintains one or
more dogs for the purpose of commercial breeding
and/or training, hunting or boarding shall not be
required to comply with the provisions of this
chapter with respect to licensing so long as the
dogs are restricted within a building or fenced
enclosure intended and designed for the purpose
of kenneling dogs and are not permitted to run
at large. Any dog otherwise exempted from license
requirements by this section which is found
running at large shall be deemed an unlicensed
dog not excluded from license requirements within
the meaning of Chapter 5.04 of the Edmonds City
Code and any person who owns, harbors or maintains
any such dog shall be required to pay all applicable
licensing fees and penalties and such other
penalties as they be imposed under this chapter
in the case of unlicensed dog running at large
within the city.
