AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 8.56.020 OF THE EDMONDS CITY
CODE AND SECTION 92 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1169 OF SAID
CITY PROHIBITING THE USE OF CERTAIN STREETS
WITHIN SAID CITY, WHEN APPROPRIATE SIGNS ARE
ERECTED, BY COMMERCIAL VEHICLES WITH A LICENSED
GROSS WEIGHT EXCEEDING 10,000 POUNDS.
WHEREAS, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS FINDS
that it is in the best interests and the public health, safety
and welfare to restrict the use of certain streets in said
City by commercial vehicles whose licensed gross weight exceeds
10,000 pounds, now, therefore;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 8.56.020 of the Edmonds City Code and Section 92 of
Ordinance No. 1169 of said City, passed on January 4, 1966, are
hereby amended to read as follows:
8.56.020 Commercial Vehicles Prohibited From Use of
Certain Streets: When signs are erected giving notice
thereof, no person shall operate any commercial
vehicle, which has a licensed gross weight exceeding
10,000 pounds, at any time upon any of the streets or
parts of the streets described in Section 8.64.080 of
the Edmonds City Code, except that such vehicles may
be operated thereon for the purpose of delivering or
picking up materials or merchandise, and then only by
entering such street at the intersection nearest the
destination of the vehicle and proceeding thereon no
further than the nearest intersection thereafter.
