AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING CHAPTER 8.48 OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE
BY ADDING A NEW SECTION, 8.48.011 PROHIBITING
STANDING OR PARKING OF A VEHICLE IN THE RADIUS
OF FIFTEEN (15) FEET OF ANY FIRE HYDRANT OR STAND
PIPE INTENDED FOR FIRE FIGHTING USE WITHIN SAID
CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, Washington
has found that the locating of vehicles within a fifteen (15)
foot radius of fire hydrants or stand pipes intended for fire
fighting use tends to obstruct the free access to such facilities
for fire fighting purposes and is detrimental to the public
health, safety and feneral welfare, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
A new section, 8.48.011 is hereby added to Chapter 8.48
of the Edmonds City Code to read as follows:
8.48.011: Standing or Parking Vehicle Close
to Fire Hydrant or Stand Pipe Prohibited.
No person shall stand or park a motor vehicle,
motor driven cycle or motorcycle or other
vehicle, whether operational or not, trailer
or other apparatus of a similar nature, on
private or public streets, alleys, roadways
or rights -of -way within a radius of fifteen
(15) feet of any fire hydrant or stand pipe
intended for fire fighting use.
