AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
ANNEXING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY TO SAID CITY, PURSUANT
TO THE PETITION METHOD, REQUIRING SAID PROPERTY TO BE
ASSESSED AND TAXED AT THE SAME RATE AND BASIS AS OTHER
PROPERTY WITHIN SAID CITY; CONFIRMING THE ZONING; AND
FIXING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF ANNEXATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, Washington,
received a petition for annexation of certain real property, the
legal description of which is set forth below, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, Washington,
has determined that the city will require the assumption of
existing city indebtedness by the area to be annexed, and
WHEREAS, public hearings have been held prior to acceptance
of this property into the City of Edmonds, to establish the zoning
upon said property, and
WHEREAS, the City Council fixed the date of October 22, 1974,
as the date for public hearing thereon and caused due and proper
notice of said hearing to be posted and published, and
WHEREAS, said proposed annexation was submitted with a
request for a waiver before the County Boundary Review Board at
its regular meeting in October, 1974, and
WHEREAS, said County Boundary Review Board has waived the
requirement of hearings on this matter, now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There has been filed with the City Council of
the City of Edmonds., a petition, in writing, signed by the owners
of more than seventy five percent (75%) in value, according to
the assessed valuation for general taxation of the property for
which annexation was petitioned; that said petition set forth
the legal description of said real property; that said petition
was accompanied by a plat or drawing, outlining the boundaries
of property sought to be annexed; that said petition set forth
the fact that the City Council of the City of Edmonds required
the assumption of city indebtedness by the area requested to be
annexed; that prior to the filing of said petition, the City
Council indicated the tentative approval of such annexation;
and that prior to the filing of said petition, said city, at
duly held public hearings, have passed an ordinance rezoning the
area proposed for annexation in accordance with the proposed
comprehensive plan as adopted by Section 12.04.091 of the Edmonds
City Code.
Section 2. Tuesday, October 22, 1974, was set as the date
for public hearing on said petition; notice of such hearing was
published in the Edmonds Tribune Review, a newspaper of general
circulation in the City of Edmonds; notice of such hearing was
also posted in three places within the territory proposed for
annexation; said notice specified the time and place of.such
hearing and invited persons interested to.appear,.and voice,
approval or disapproval of .the.annexation.. ..
Section 3. The territory proposed by said petition to be
annexed to said City of Edmonds is situate in the County of
Snohomish in the State of Washington, is contiguous, proximate
and adjacent to the present corporate limits of said city, and
is more particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto
and incorporated in full by this reference.
Section 4. The territory set forth in this ordinance and
for which said petition for annexation is filed, should be and
is hereby made a part of the City of Edmonds.
Section 5. Pursuant to the terms of the annexation
petition, all property within this territory annexed hereby

shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same
basis as property within the city, including assessments or
taxes in payment of any bonds issued or debts contracted, prior
to or existing at the date of annexation.
Section 6. Said area hereby annexed shall have the zoning
classifications in conformance and as established by Ordinance
No. 1727 of said city, passed on August 27, 1974.
Section 7. The area annexed hereby shall become a part
of the City of Edmonds, and this ordinance shall take effect
and be in force on the llth day of November, 1974.
