AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
ADDING A NEW SECTION TO CHAPTER 11.16 OF THE EDMONDS
CITY CODE REGULATING THE DISCHARGE OF SEWAGE FROM
SEPTIC TANKS OR MOBILE HOLDING TANKS INTO THE CITY
SEWAGE SYSTEM AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO
ESTABLISH REGULATIONS FOR A PERMIT SYSTEM; AND
PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby added to Chapter 11.16 of the
Edmonds City Code a new section, 11.16.185, to read as follows:
"Section 11.16.185 Regulation of Discharge of
Septic Tank Sewage and Mobile Holding Tank Sewage.
It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge
sanitary or septic sewage from septic tanks or
any mobile holding tanks into the sewerage system
of the city except at locations approved by the
city engineer. The city engineer is hereby
directed and empowered to establish regulations
pertaining to the disposal of such sewage, to
establish a permit system therefor and maintain
a list of those approved locations for disposal
within said city."
Section 2. Violation of Section 1 of this ordinance shall
be subject to the fine as provided in Section 5.12.170 of the
Edmonds City Code.
