Ordinance 1788ORDINANCE NO. L" AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DECREASING THE MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT SET BY STATE LAW FROM 25 M.P.H. TO 20 M.P.H. ON SIXTH AVENUE SOUTH FROM WALNUT TO PINE AND ON 75TH PLACE WEST FROM NORTH MEADOWDALE ROAD TO THE COUNTY PARK AND BY ADDING THE SAME TO THE SCHEDULE CONTAINED IN SECTION 8.16.040 OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE WHEREAS, pursuant to traffic engineering and safety studies it has been determined and the City Council so finds that the public health, safety and welfare will be served by a reduction of the maximum speed permissible by State law from 25 m.p.h. to 20 m.p.h. on a portion of Sixth Avenue South between Pine Street and Walnut Street and on 75th Place West from North Meadowdale Road to the County Park, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 8.16.040 of the Edmonds City Code is hereby supplemented by decreasing the State law maximum speed from 25 m.p.h. to 20 m.p.h. at all times on the following streets or parts of streets when signs are erected giving notice thereof: Name of Street Speed Limit Sixth Avenue South from Pine to Walnut St. 20 m.p.h. 75th Place West from North Meadowdale Road to the County Park 20 m.p.h. At All Times Or (During Daytime) at all times at all times Section 2. The City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to erect signs giving notice of the speed limit reductions purusant to Section 1. APPROVED: MAYOR, H. H.
