AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 12 13.030 (f)(3) OF THE EDMONDS
CITY CODE REQUIRING CHURCHES, AUDITORIUMS AND
RECREATION FACILITIES, INCLUDING CLUBS TO SET
ALL BUILDINGS BACK THIRTY FEET FROM ANY PROPERTY
LINE IN RS ZONES EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED
PURSUANT TO PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 486.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, Washington,
pursuant to Planning Commission Resolution No. 486 called a public
hearing and during said hearing determined it to be in the best
interests of the public health, safety and welfare to amend the
Edmonds Zoning Code as set forth below pursuant to Planning
Commission Resolution No. 486, and
WHEREAS, the City Council having specifically found that
churches, auditoriums and recreation facilities, including clubs
because of the size and mass of such buildings should, when located
in a residential single-family zone, be required to set back from
side and rear property lines a minimum of thirty (30) feet to
reduce the impact of such buildings on the character of the single-
family residential neighborhoods, and the City Council finding that
it is in the best interests of the public health, safety and general
welfare and to preserve property values that such restrictions be
imposed, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 12.13.030 (f)(3) of the Edmonds City Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
12`.13.030 (f)(3). Buildings located in single-family
residential RS zones shall be no closer than thirty (30)
feet to any side or rear property line. Front yard setbacks
shall comply with subsection (2) above. Buildings located
in all other zones other than single-family residential (RS)
shall comply with the setback requirements of the zone within
which the building or buildings are located."

residential (RS) zones shall be
no closer than thirty (30) feet to
any side or rear property line.
Front yard setbacks shall
comply with subsection (2)
above. Buildings located in all
other zones other than single-
family residential (RS) shall
comply with the setback
requirements of the zone within
which the building or buildings
are located."
