AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1765 OF SAID
CITY AND SECTION 1.11.020 OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE
TO INCREASE THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE EDMONDS CIVIC ARTS
COMMISSION FROM SEVEN TO EIGHT MEMBERS AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EXPIRATION DATE OF NEWLY CREATED POSITION
NUMBER EIGHT FOR THE INITIAL TERM FOR SAID POSITION
OF DECEMBER 31, 1979.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1765 and Section 1.11.020 of the
Edmonds City Code are hereby amended to read as follows:
1.11.020. Terms of Membership. The term of membership for
the members of the Edmonds Civic Arts Commission shall be
four years, provided, however, in order that the fewest
terms will expire in any one year, the terms of the first
appointed members shall expire on December 31st of the
year set forth for each respective position number as
follows:
Position Number 1 shall expire December 31, 1975.
Position Number 2 shall expire December 31, 1976.
Position Number 3 shall expire December 31, 1976.
Position Number 4 shall expire December 31, 1977.
Position Number 5 shall expire December 31, 1977.
Position Number 6 shall expire December 31, 1978.
Position Number 7 shall expire December 31, 1978.
Position Number 8 shall expire December 31, 1979.
Any appointment. to a position vacated other than by the
expiration of the term of the appointment shall be to fill
only the unexpired portion of said term. After the expira-
tion of the initial term for the first appointed members,
each term thereafter shall be for a period of four years.
The initial position numbers for each member shall be
determined by lot after the appointment and confirmation of
all members at their first organizational meeting, provided,
however, since position number eight was created subse-
quent to the filling of positions number one through seven
the initial term of position number eight shall be filled by
appointment to that position which initial term shall
expire December 31, 1979. Members may be removed by the
Mayor with approval of the City Council after a public
hearing before the City Council for inefficiency, neglect
or duty or malfeasance in office.
