ORDINANCE NO. 2881
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE CITY'S SALARY
ORDINANCE FOR 1992, ORDINANCE NO. 2860 TO
PROVIDE FOR PERFORMANCE BASED PAY INCREASES
FOR DIRECTORS AND MANAGERS AND FOR CERTAIN
EMPLOYEES WITHIN THE C-2 TO F-1 RANGES AND
FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME
EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds approved
Ordinance No. 2860 providing a salary increase of 5.5% to all
nonrepresented employees; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to establish a pool for
performance based increases for nonrepresented employees to a
maximum of $28,300; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 2860 is hereby amended in order
to provide as part of the City's annual salary ordinance for
performance based pay for nonrepresented employees:
1.1 The Mayor is authorized to approve, in her best
judgment, performance pay increases for directors and managers
above the pay range of C-2. Such performance pay increases shall
not exceed 3% for any employee. Such increases shall be available
to all employees who are employed as of April 1, 1992, and shall be
retroactive to April 1, 1992.

1.2 The Mayor is authorized to approve merit
increases for employees listed in the C-2 through F-1 range and the
Police Chief Secretary NE-7 effective on the individual employee's
anniversary date for the balance of the 1992 fiscal year. Such
merit increases shall range between 0% up to 5% but shall not
exceed the employee's salary range. No additional cost of living
increase shall be approved for such employees during fiscal year
1992.
Section 2. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power
specifically delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject
to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after passage
and publication of the ordinance or a summary thereof consisting of
the title.
