Ordinance 1850ORDINANCE NO. 5' b AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, ESTABLISHING EXPIRATION PERIODS FOR BUILDING PERMITS, DEMOLITION PERMITS, GRADING PERMITS AND PERMITS FOR MOVED -IN BUILDINGS AND AMENDING SECTION 11.02.025 (d) OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE. WHEREAS, the City Council, following a public hearing, has determined it is in the best interests of the public health, safety and welfare to establish specific times for the expira- tion of certain permits issued under the Building Code and related provision of Title 11 of the Edmonds City Code, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 11.02.025 (d) of the Edmonds City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "11.02.025(d). Expiration. Every permit issued by the Building Official under the provisions of this Code shall expire by limitation and become null and void one year from the date of issuance except as otherwise herein provided: 1. Demolition permits required pursuant to Section 11.02.040 of this Code shall expire 180 days from date of issuance. 2. Grading permits for fills under 500 cubic yards shall expire 90 days from the date of issuance. 3. Permits for moved -in buildings required pursuant to Section 11.32.070 of this Code shall expire 180 days from the date of issuance. Upon the expiration of any permit referred to in this section and before such work may be commenced or recommenced a new permit shall be issued permitting such work and the fee therefor shall be one-half the amount required for a new permit provided that no changes have been made or will be made in the original plans and specifications and provided further that such suspension or abandonment has not exceeded one year."
