AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1874 PASSED ON SEPTEMBER
28, 1976, TO RESTATE THE SUM TO BE LEVIED FOR
GENERAL TAXES FOR THE CITY OF EDMONDS FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1977, ON ALL
PROPERTY, BOTH REAL AND PERSONAL, IN SAID CITY
SUBJECT TO TAXATION TO REFLECT CHANGES IN THE
ASSESSED VALUATION OF SAID PROPERTY WITHIN SAID
CITY.
WHEREAS, the Snohomish County Assessor's office has
provided final revised data setting forth the assessed valua-
tions for both real and personal property subject to taxation
for general taxes in the City of Edmonds for the fiscal year
commencing January 1, 1977, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds,
Washington, passed Ordinance No. 1874 on September 28, 1976
in order to comply with time limitations established by
State law for the passage of said Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend said Ordinance to
reflect the final assessed valuation figures as have now
been received from the Snohomish County Assessor's office,
now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1874 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 1. There shall be and hereby is levied on
all real, personal and utility property in the City of
Edmonds, subject to taxation, current taxes for the
ensuing year commencing January 1, 1977, the sum of
$941,869, which is equivalent to $2.82 per $1,000 of
assessed valuation (not the $3.60 per $1,000 of assessed

valuation to which the city would be entitled in the
absence of the present tax ceiling legislation imposed
on the city by the State of Washington) levied on
property with an estimated assessed valuation of
$333,877,548, of all said taxable property, for the
Current Expense Fund and for the Firemen's Pension
Fund as may be necessary to maintain the actuarial
soundness of said Firemen's Pension Fund, if any.
Section 2. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1874 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 2. In addition to the above levies for the
ensuing fiscal year of 1977, there shall be and hereby is
levied current taxes of $39,255 which is approximately
$.165 per $1,000 of assessed valuation levied on property
with an estimated assessed valuation of $237,831,422 the
purpose of which is to retire the outstanding obligation
incurred by the City for Refunding General Obligation Bonds
which retired bonds that had been issued after an affirma-
tive vote of the citizens in favor of the construction of
the Edmonds Civic Center.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be certified to the Board
of County Commissioners for Snohomish County, as provided by law,
and the taxes here levied shall be collected and paid to the
Finance Director of the City of Edmonds at the time and in the
manner provided by laws of the State of Washington for the
collection of taxes for non -charter code cities.
