ORDINANCE NO. 2176
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASH-
INGTON, ADDING A NEW SECTION 6.10.010 TO
THE EDMONDS CITY CODE APPOINTING THE HEALTH
OFFICER FOR THE SNOHOMISH DISTRICT AS THE
HEALTH OFFICER FOR THE CITY OF EDMONDS;
AMENDING SECTION 3.12.050 OF THE EDMONDS
CITY CODE DEALING WITH QUARANTINE REQUIRE-
MENTS; AMENDING SECTION 3.12.060 OF THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE RELATING TO NOTICE
REQUIREMENTS; REPEALING CHAPTERS 3.04 AND
3.08 OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE CREATING A
CITY BOARD OF HEALTH AND HEALTH OFFICER;
AND REPEALING SECTION 3.12.030 OF THE EDMONDS
CITY CODE REQUIRING SMALLPDX VACCINATIONS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. A new Section 6.10.010 is hereby added to
the Edmonds City Code to read as follows:
6.10.010 HEALTH OFFICER APPOINTED
The health officer for the Snohomish Health District is
appointed health officer for the City of Edmonds.
Section 2. Section 3.12.050 of the Edmonds City Code
is hereby amended and renumbered as 6.10.050 to read as
follows:
6.10.050 QUARANTINE REQUIREMENTS
Whenever any case of smallpox, varioloid, or contagious
diseases, within the city limits, shall come to the
knowledge of the health officer, the health officer
shall forthwith cause such afflicted person or persons
to be quarantined.
Section 3. Section 3.12.060 of the Edmonds City Code
is hereby amended and renumbered as 6.10.070 to read as
follows:
6.10.070 NOTICE REQUIREMENTS
All notices required by this chapter shall be in writ-
ing and signed by the health officer or his or her
designee. The notice shall be served by the police on
the offender personally or by leaving a copy at the
place of the offender's usual abode with a person of
suitable age and discretion residing there.
Section 4. Chapter 3.04, Chapter 3.08 and Section
3.12.030 of the Edmonds City Code creating a city health
board and health officer and requiring smallpox vaccinations
are hereby repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance will be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by post-
ing as provided by law.
