AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASH-
INGTON, AMENDING SECTION 6.20.030 OF THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE TO ESTABLISH REVISED UTILITY
CHARGES EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 1, 1980.
WHEREAS, recent increases in the water rates and
utility charges have resulted in a great deal of concern to
citizens of Edmonds, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to retain
a consultant to conduct a study of the financial needs of
the City's utility and the current rate structure, and
WHEREAS, pending the consultant's final report,
the Council has determined to modify the utility charges to
be effective when all persons in the city have received two
utility billings, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 6.20.030 of the Edmonds City
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"6.20.030 UTILITY CHARGES
A. The utility charges set forth in this subsection shall
be added to and made a part of the monthly rates for
water supplied through the meters (as set forth in
Section 6.20.020 above):

B. These rates do not apply to industries or manufacturing
concerns which have industrial wastes and these, with
any other activities not covered in this chapter, will
be dealt with on a special basis and have special rates
set for the particular business by the water/utility
administrative staff subject to review by the city
council."
Section 2. The utility charges imposed by this
ordinance shall be effective on and after December 1, 1980.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect five (5) days after passage and publication by
posting as provided by law.
