ORDINANCE NO. 2228
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASH-
INGTON, ADDING A NEW SECTION 8.32.060 TO
THE EDMONDS CITY CODE RESTRICTING VEHIC-
ULAR TRAFFIC ON MAIN STREET AND DAYTON
STREET BETWEEN THE CROSS STREETS OF SIXTH
AVENUE AND EIGHTH AVENUE TO ONE-WAY
DIRECTION DURING THE ANNUAL EDMONDS ARTS
FESTIVAL.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is necessary
for public safety and welfare to restrict traffic on Main
Street and Dayton Street between Sixth Avenue and Eighth
Avenue to one direction only during the annual Edmonds Arts
Festival, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby added a new Section
8.32.060 to the Edmonds City Code relating to one-way traffic
on certain streets during the annual Edmonds Arts Festival,
to read as follows:
8.32.060 CERTAIN STREETS ONE-WAY DURING EDMONDS
ARTS FESTIVAL
On the third Friday, Saturday and Sunday of June
each year vehicular traffic on Main Street between
Sixth Avenue and Eighth Avenue shall be restricted
to an eastbound direction only and traffic on
Dayton Street between Sixth Avenue and Eighth
Avenue shall be restricted to a westbound direction
only, provided directional signs to this effect
have been clearly posted.
Section 2. The City Traffic Engineer is hereby
directed to post directional signs each year on the third
Friday, Saturday and Sunday of June to effectuate this
ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect five (5) days after passage and publication by
posting as provided by law.
