ORDINANCE NO. 2316
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASH-
INGTON, AMENDING THE 1982 BUDGET BY AMEND-
ING ORDINANCE NO. 2256 PASSED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL ON DECEMBER 22, 1981, TO TRANSFER
MONIES FROM DEPARTMENT 200 OF GENERAL FUND
NO. 001 TO THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FUND
NO. 119.
WHEREAS, the City is required by applicable state
law to finalize its annual budget prior to the commencement
of the fiscal year, and
WHEREAS, the amounts of revenue and appropriations
can only be estimated at the time of finalization of said
budget, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the
best interests of the City of Edmonds to decrease a portion
of the total appropriation provided for the General Fund
No. 001, Department 200 in light of the fact the position of
Mayor's Administrative Assistant has been abolished and a new
position of Personnel Director has been created with such new
position requiring a lower salary appropriation than was
required for the Mayor's Administrative Assistant position at
the time the 1982 budget was adopted, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the
best interests of the City of Edmonds to transfer the funds
no longer required in the General Fund to the Council
Contingency Fund No. 119, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 2256 passed
by the City Council on December 22, 1981, and the Budget
Summary showing the schedule of revenues and appropriations
for each individual fund and the aggregate totals thereof as
set forth on Exhibit A attached to said ordinance and incor-
porated by reference, are hereby amended to reflect a
decrease in General Fund No. 001, Department 200, by an
amount equal to $4,000.00, which amount is hereby appropri-
ated from such fund to be transferred to the Council Contin-
gency Fund No. 119, as further specified in Exhibit A
attached to this ordinance and incorporated herein as if set
forth in full.
Section 2. The Finance Director is hereby autho-
rized and instructed to effectuate the necessary changes to
the 1982 budget and to make all necessary and appropriate
line item entries and adjustments in order to reflect the
decrease in the General Fund No. 001, Department 200, and the
transfer between funds as set forth in Section 1 of this
ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance having been on file with
the City Clerk for five (5) days prior to its date of passage
shall be in full force and effect five (5) days after its
passage by a vote of one more than the majority of all

members of the City Council and publication by posting as
provided by law.
