ORDINANCE NO. 2354
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL
FIRE/RESCUE/POLICE BOAT FUND TO CONSIST OF
DONATIONS AND OTHER MONIES DEPOSITED FOR THE
PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING, MAINTAINING AND
OPERATING A FIRE/RESCUE/POLICE BOAT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds has
determined that there is a need for a multi -purpose emergency
watercraft designed to provide fire, rescue and police
services to the Edmonds waterfront and coastline, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it necessary to
establish a special fund into which can be deposited monies
donated by interested citizens and from other sources with
the provision that if the purposes intended for such monies
are not accomplished all identified donations can be returned
to the original donor, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Acceptance of Monies for Fire/Rescue/
Police Boat Fund. The City Council of the City of Edmonds
hereby accepts for and on behalf of said City voluntary
contributions made to the City for the special purpose of
acquiring a specially equipped watercraft designed to provide
fire, rescue and police services to the City of Edmonds
waterfront and coastline as well as to provide for all
necessary maintenance and operation costs of such
fire/rescue/police boat together with training of all
necessary personnel.
Section 2. Establishment of Fire/Rescue/Police Boat
Fund. There is hereby established a "Special Fire/Rescue/
Police Boat Fund No. 624" into which fund will be deposited
any and all voluntary contributions made for the purposes set
forth in Section 1 of this ordinance.
Any donation received by the City of Edmonds Finance
Director and deposited into said fund should be accompanied
by the name and address of the donor. In the event the City
Council determines that the purposes of said fund are to be
abandoned prior to the acquisition of such fire/rescue/police
boat, the Finance Director shall return all donations to the
persons making such donations in the amount originally
donated without interest but only to those donors whose names
and addresses accompanied their donation. The City of
Edmonds shall not be responsible for the return of any money
received without the donor's name and address and any
residual monies shall be transfered to the Emergency Aid Car
Fund No. 623 upon the closing of Fund No. 624.
Section 3. Annual Progress Report
The Fire Chief, or his designee is hereby directed to
report to the City Council within one year of the date of
this ordinance presenting the status of and/or prospects for

accomplishing the purposes of said fund as stated in
Section 1 of this ordinance.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting
as provided by law.
