ORDINANCE NO. 2465
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 1.04.010 RELATING TO REGULAR PUBLIC
MEETINGS, TIME AND DATES TO PROVIDE FOR COUNCIL
COMMITTEE MEETING TIMES AND A TIME WHEN THE SAME
SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds has
established its committees to review issues of importance to the
public; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to hold said meetings on
a regular basis in conjunction with its work meetings at such
times during said meetings as the council shall provide by its
agenda, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 1.04.010 of the Edmonds City Code
Regular Public Meeting Time and Days be and is hereby amended to
read as follows:
1.04.010 REGULAR PUBLIC MEETING TIME AND DAYS
Regular meetings of the City Council shall be held on
each Tuesday of every month throughout the year in the
Plaza Meeting Room - Library Building at 7:00 P.M.;
provided, however, on the second and fourth Tuesdays of
every month, such meetings shall be designated as work
meetings, and the City Council shall not hold any public
hearings for which notice is required to be given by
state law or ordinance of the City. Council meetings
shall adjourn at 10:00 P.M. on the day initiated unless
such adjournment is extended by an affirmative vote of a
majority of the Council as a whole plus one. In the
event state law requires an adoption of an ordinance or
other action on other than a Tuesday, such as budget
hearings, said dates are hereby declared to be addi-
tional regular meeting dates upon which date the action,
ordinance, resolution or hearing may be taken and/or
adopted. Committee meetings of the Council shall be
held in conjunction with the work meetings of the
Council at such time and on such occasion as the
committee shall determine necessary. The 10:00 P.M.
adjournment deadline set by this ordinance shall apply
only to meetings of the Council as a Whole and shall not
affect the ability of any Council subcommittee to meet
after such time when so scheduled by the chair or by the
subcommittee.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting as
provided by law.
