My understanding is the reason for the height was explained and approved in the prior submittals (that are now expired), but will relay further information for your records from our Engineer. Please see below. The reasons are the following: - The pole immediately to the east is already a 50 foot pole and we need to maintain a horizontal line on our power lines to prevent excessive stress on the pole top pins. In this case, the pole on the east is already higher in elevation so it is even more crucial that we bring up the lines on this new pole. - There is an old anchor pole supporting this old 45 foot pole that I'm trying to eliminate by putting a stronger 50 foot pole. This is a bad order anchor pole as well and located west across the street. (see picture below) - Pole is already installed because we had already acquired the expired permit. We just need to finish the job. (See picture below) - The top floor of the adjacent building will have a better view because the arms will be higher on the new pole. (Unintended effect of the taller pole) Hope this helps, Shaina Crisostomo Joint Use & Permit Coordinator Office: x.4106 Cell: 425-293-8636 From: Edmonds Engineering Permits<EngineeringPermits@edmondswa.gov> Sent: Tuesday, June 29, 2021 4:07 PM To: Haskin, Beth <BAHaskin@SNOPUD.com> Cc: Joint Use <JointUse@SNOPUD.com> Subject: PUD ROW Permit Application ENG2021-0194 for BO pole at 217 Alder St (expired permits ENG2019-0489 & ENG2018-0302) CAUTION: THIS EMAIL IS FROM AN EXTERNAL SENDER. Do not click on links or open attachments if the sender is unknown or the email is suspect. Hi Beth, I have reviewed the application. Can you please confirm the height of the existing BO pole? The proposed new pole is 50'. If the existing BO pole is less than 50', the City will not approve the height increase for the new pole if it is solely for future utility connections. Please confirm.
