During a review of the plans by the Building Division for compliance with the applicable building
codes, it was found that the following information, clarifications, or changes are needed. Reviews by
other divisions, such as Planning, Engineering, or Fire, may result in additional comments that
require attention beyond the scope of this letter. Items that recur on this list appear in italics.
Please submit to a Permit Coordinator 2 sets of revised plans/documents, including a written
response letter that is in itemized letter format. Indicate where the `clouded' or otherwise highlighted
changes can be found on the revised plans. Upon receipt the re -submittal will be routed for review(s).
Resubmittals must be made at the Development Services Department on the 2nd Floor of City Hall.
Permit Center hours are M, T, Th, & F from 8am-4:30pm and from 8:30am-12pm on Wednesdays.
Sheet A1.0:
A 1 hour fire wall has been indicted between the new addition and the new garage for this
project on the plans. It appears that the door at the South wall does not indicate that it is a 20
minute fire -rated door equipped with a self -closing device. Please correct this on the plans.
Section 302.5.1.
Structural:
2. It appears that a Simpson Strong wall is to be used for this project at the garage door
openings. I am unable to verify this and how the strong wall is to be constructed/ anchored
per the Manufactures instructions. Please provide a detail as to the construction, hold downs,
anchorage and calculations that is going to be used for the garage portal framing.
