Dear Mr. Gradwohl:
As requested, we have performed inspection services on your building lot at
the above noted address. These services occurred on. October 29 and 309
1986.
At the time of our inspections the earthwork contractor was working to
attain final grade for the multilevel foundation system. We observed his
effort until all undesireable fill had been removed and the lowermost
footing was a minimum of 18 inches below original grade... Al footings
designed for maximum soil bearing pressure of 1,500 psf and placed on the
established grades will provide suitable building support.
As stated in our previous report to you, dated October 3, 1986, control of
surface and ground water is essential for long term slope stability. Your
drainage system should therefore be inspected by our office after
installation but prior to any backfilling.
In addition, the excavated soils which have been pushed onto the slope by
your earthwork contractor, should be considered unstable and must be removed
as soon as possible. In no case should any of this loose fill be allowed to
permanently remain on site except for possible minor landscaping projects.
