Reference is made to the drainage problem o g *eet S.W.
between Highway 99 and pith Avenue West which you reported to this office
on January 23, 1969.
The City of Edmonds will check the drain running north from 228th
Street S.W. on the west side of 76th Avenue Wiest to determine if it is
operating properly. The State Highway Department plans on cleaning the
ditch on 228th Street S.W. between Highway 99 and 76th Avenue nest in the
near future.
These two actions should help the drainage in this area. Further,
within the next two years, it is planned to improve 76th Avenue West.
Drainage problems will be included in this improvement.

To perform this test:
1. Dig hole at ,least:, 36 inches deep... Use a shovel or post hole''di`gger
size of hole makes no difference --only depth.
2. Fill hole with water. Now let all water run out of hole. This soaks
the ground and will give a more accurate reading.
3. Again pour water in hole to a height of 12 inches from the bottom.
Let water run out until there is just 6 inches from bottom left in hole
4. Note how many minutes it takes for this last 6 inches to seep away.
Record this time below. �$

5. Divide this time by 6 to obtain the rate per inch
