We visited the site today at the request of Mark McDowell to provide geotechnical consultation and
construction monitoring services for the garage addition project located at 23521 — 75"' Avenue West in
Edmonds, Washington.
Upon arrival, we met with Mark and the contractors from McDowell Pile King to discuss the days plans.
We observed the installation of all 22 pin piles within the footing area of the planned garage. The piles
consisted of 2-inch diameter, schedule 80, galvanized steel pipe, with initial lengths of 21 feet, and
connected with internal steel couplers if needed. The piles were driven with a T13235, 400 pound
hydraulic hammer to a refusal criteria of less than one inch of movement per 3 seconds of continuous
driving. We monitored each pile as they were driven to refusal. Pile refusal depths are recorded in the
table below. Refusal depths were measured from the bottom of foundation grade.

It is our opinion that the piles driven today were installed in accordance with the approved plans and our
recommendations, and should support the planned loads. If additional geotechnical construction
monitoring services are needed, we are able to return to the site upon request.
