Dear Mr. Nguyen,
We were asked to comment on a few site discoveries, observed during the structural retrofit following our
issuance of our January 20, 2021 structural report.
It was observed that the footings did not match the ones in our documentation/report, and that the
footing work that had been observed were also un-reinforced.
The footings were poured with a width of 40"x25" and 40"x27" in lieu of the 30"00" proposed,
without reinforcement being utilized.
Response: Based on current loading, and with the area of bearing for each footing being larger
with the footings poured than of the ones specified (3000) we will accept the construction of
such footings at their current sizes, without reinforcement and will still meet the loading
demand.
- For the remainder, the deck construction is deemed adequate as long as the remainder of the items are
addressed as specified in the January 20, 2021 report.
