A. GENERAL NOTES & CONDITIONS:
1. General:
a. Site Visit(s): This Field Report documents Ibrahim's site visits on 2-24-21, 3-3-21, 3-5-21,
and 3-10-21 to review construction progress. The weather was sunny on 2-24-21, 3-3-21,
and 3-10-21, and overcast on 3-5-21.
b. Follow -Up Communication: Follow-up conversations and emails between Marcus, Shane,
Tina, Max, Ibrahim, and myself may also be included in this field report for the purpose of
documentation.
c. RFIs and ASIs: Refer to RFI and ASI responses for additional direction regarding specific
items.
d. Note: Direction provided in this Field Report with associated costs must be approved by the
Construction Manager prior to execution.
2. Construction Status: On 2-24-21, 3-3-21, 3-5-21, and 3-10-21, framing, blocking, and deck
sheathing installation were ongoing by RCI. On 3-10-21, GYP-1 installations at deck fascia
locations were ongoing by RCI. Refer to Photos 1- 4.
B. DISCUSSIONS:
Damaged Framing and Insulation at Unit 2 (2-24-21): On 2-24-21, Ibrahim documented
damaged existing framing and insulation at the Unit 2 and Unit 3 party wall above Garage #3.
Refer to Photos 5 and 6. Via email on 2-26-21, 1 forwarded photos to Lindsey and followed -up
with a teleconference to discuss. Lindsey confirmed the existing stud should be cut and
removed where damaged is > 3/16" in depth. RCI will install a new 2x stud sistered to the
remaining existing 2x per DEI's requirements. RCI will also replace existing insulation that
exhibited organic growth in like -kind.
2. Joist Repair at Unit 5 Deck Return (2-24-21): On 2-24-21, Ibrahim documented a gap at joists
replaced at Unit 5 cantilevered deck return above Garage #7. The gap is approximately 2" wide
and does not provide adequate fastener coverage for guardrail attachments. Refer to Photo 7.
Via email on 2-26-21, 1 forwarded photos to Lindsey and followed -up with a teleconference to
discuss. Lindsey confirmed RCI shall install a third joist to fill the gap and provide adequate
fastener coverage for guardrail attachments. On 3-5-21, Lindsey reviewed and approved the
installation by RCI. Refer to Photo 8.
3. Plywood Deck Sheathing Installations (3-3-21): On 3-3-21, Ibrahim documented plywood deck
sheathing layouts at Units 1 and 2. Refer to Photo 9. To verify fascia dimension modifications,
plywood had not been fastened into framing. Where plywood seams exist, RCI will ensure
horizontal blocking at the underside of sheathing and reinforcing glass mesh tape at the top of

sheathing is installed at all seam locations per MEM-1 manufacturer's recommendations and
requirements.
4. SID-1 and MTL #11 Installations (3-3-21): Via a teleconference on 3-3-21, Marcus and I
discussed the SID-1 and MTL #11 installations at the deck fascia and soffit. RCI shall install MTL
#11 to align with the bottom of SID-1 and existing vinyl siding at the storage closet. MTL #11,
SID-1, and existing vinyl siding are to terminate 3/4" below the 2x8 exterior rim joist. MTL #11
hem will be modified to 3/4" in lieu of the original 1/2" dimension to accommodate the fascia
alignment modifications. Refer to Item C, 2 for additional information.
5. Soffit Panel Installation Discussion (3-3-21): Via a teleconference on 3-3-21, Marcus informed
me that T1-11(SP-1) scheduled for installation at the soffit panel locations has an extended
lead time and prefers HardieSoffit panels in lieu of T1-11. HardieSoffit panel provides the same
aesthetic as the fascia board (SID-1) in addition to greater longevity and is therefore acceptable
as a substitute for T1-11. This product substitution is a no cost change. HardieSoffit is pre -
primed for paint and the texture shall be smooth to match the fascia.
6. Framing Repairs and Blocking Installations at Rim Joist Parallel with Deck Joists (3-4-21): Via a
teleconference on 3-4-21, Marcus and I discussed the framing and blocking installations in
relation to the existing downspout locations. Through a series of photos provided by Marcus, I
reviewed the existing conditions and noted observations below:
Existing Downspout Discussion: On 3-4-21, 1 confirmed required framing repairs and
blocking installations impede existing downspout penetrations. Refer to Photo 10. In lieu of
exercising Detail 14/A5.1, RCI will remove and replace all existing downspouts. All new
downspouts will be routed off decks with 45-degree elbows installed at top and bottom of
downspout locations, similar to the existing downspout at Unit 13. RCI will ensure new
downspouts do not impede garage entrances and exact locations shall be coordinated with
AG, as needed.
b. Blocking Installation Rework: During photo review of existing downspout locations on 3-4-
21, 1 observed blocking installed by RCI did not conform to DEI's Structural SK9. Refer to
Photo 11. Blocking at deck returns was to be installed parallel to joists and fastened into
perpendicular blocking spaced 24" on center at ends. Via a teleconference on 3-5-21,
Lindsey confirmed blocking currently installed at deck returns requires rework to
accommodate structural requirements for guardrail attachments.
7. DEI Site Visit (3-5-21): On 3-5-21, Lindsey was onsite to review the framing repairs by RCI.
Onsite, Lindsey confirmed that 8" screws were acceptable to provide adequate fastener
coverage at the three (3) sistered joists at the deck return at Unit 5, above Garage #7. In
addition, Lindsey explained Structural SK9 and the required rework at the blocking installations
at the parallel rim to joist conditions. Additional information regarding direction provided by
Lindsey onsite is forthcoming in her Site Visit Report.
8. Deck Fascia Modifications (3-10-21): On 3-10-21, Ibrahim documented the deck edge fascia
dimensions to verify conformance between details provided by AG and DEI. Refer to Photo 12.
Per Structural SK7 and Structural SK9, DEI requires locations of galvanized lag screws at the
bottom of the guardrail mount plate to be a minimum of 3/4" on center from the bottom of the
blocking. To achieve this requirement, the drip edge metal (MTL #7) and associated metal
saddles require modifications to shorten the vertical flange by 1". In addition, FF-1 will be

installed at GYP-1 fascia locations in lieu of WR13 and SAM-1. FF-1 will be installed behind and
lapped over MTL #11 per SK1. Refer to Item C, 2 for additional information.
9. Roof Repairs at Unit 15 (3-10-21): On 3-10-21, Ibrahim documented the roof repairs at Unit 15
prior to the work being approved and direction provided by AG. Refer to Photo 13. Via a
teleconference and follow-up email to Marcus on 3-11-21, 1 noted the diverter flashing installed
requires rework. Refer to Photo 14. In addition, AG requests photo documentation to confirm
the roof underlayment material installed and a proper transition of the roof underlayment.
Roof underlayment shall have a continuous vertical transition from the top of roof sheathing up
behind the step flashing a minimum of 6". Rework of roof underlayment will be determined
following photo review. Additional rework of other materials and locations may be required per
photo review. Roof repairs and proper tie-in and weather -lapping of materials at roof to wall
locations shall conform to SK3 — SK5. Refer to Item C, 3 for additional information.
10. SGD Sill Pans (3-10-21): On 3-10-21, Ibrahim documented an existing sill pan with MEM-1
coating installed. Refer to Photo 15. Ibrahim documented Polyglaze AL 50 onsite, which is
approved for the MEM-1 intermediate and topcoat installation. Via a teleconference on 3-11-
21, Marcus noted that the MEM-1 basecoat was installed over the SGD sill pans. RCI will ensure
MEM-1 basecoat is installed over all SGD sill pans prior to FF-1 installations. In addition, the sill
pan side flanges were extended to 9" in lieu of the required 4" dimension without coordinating
with AG. Via a teleconference with Marcus, he informed me that the extension was provided to
accommodate their preferred installation sequence. RCI prefers to install the SGD sill pans prior
to the integral base of wall L-metal, which is acceptable. L-metal will lap over the sill pan a
minimum 4" and reinforcing seam tape will be installed at the metal to metal seam as an
integral reinforcement in the MEM-1 system.
11. 2x Framing Below Garage #9 Beam (3-10-21): On 3-10-21, Ibrahim documented framing
installations at the end of Garage #9 beam. The 2x stud adjacent to the garage door trim was
observed cut short of the horizontal track above. Refer to Photo 16. Via an email and a follow-
up conversation with Lindsey on 3-15-21, Lindsey provided direction to install 2x blocking to fill
the existing gap between the stud and horizontal top track.
12. Deck to Wall Interface at Units 4 and 8 (3-12-21): Via multiple emails and follow-up
teleconferences with Marcus and Shane on 3-12-21, we discussed the existing deck edge to
wall interface. Following removal of existing vinyl siding and demolition of existing LP siding and
insulation board, Shane informed the Project Team of damage to existing sheathing at both
Unit 4 and Unit 8 locations. Refer to Photo 17. At Unit 4, existing sheathing will be replaced
from the deck edge to the framing at the garage door jamb and vertically where damage has
been exposed. At Unit 8, RCI will replace existing damaged sheathing up to the stud between
the garage door jamb framing and deck to wall interface. Direction regarding the transition of
fascia panel reveal to vinyl exterior corner trim is forthcoming.
a. Additional Observations at Unit 4 and 8: Via photos from Shane on 3-12-21, 1 observed GYP-
1 installed at the fascia exhibited damage at select locations. Refer to Photo 18. Due to the
change in the fascia details to install FF-1 over GYP-1, the GYP-1 may remain installed. For
future installations of new materials and reinstallation of existing materials, RCI shall
ensure damage is mitigated and take additional precautions. In addition, primer installed at
the bottom of the exterior rim joist was observed on adjacent existing vinyl siding and vinyl
accessories. Refer to Photo 19. RCI will ensure proper protections are installed over
adjacent materials.
