SITED WITHIN THE CITY OF EDMONDS (JURISDICTION), SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WASHINGTON.

RELATED ELECTRICAL PERMIT: UNDER SEPARATE PERMIT
GENERAL NOTES
1. COORDINATE ALL NEW WORK WITH STRUCTURE AND OTHER TRADES.
2. FIELD VERIFY UNIT LOCATIONS, DROPS AND POSITIONS.
3. ALL LINE VOLTAGE WORK SHALL BE INSTALLED BY AN LICENSED COMMERCIAL ELECTRICIAN.

1. PROGRAMMABLE CONTROLS SHALL BE CAPABLE OF PROVIDING 5 DEGREE DEAD BAND AS
REQUIRED BY 2018 WSEC SECTION C403.2.4.1.2. CONTROLS SHALL ALSO BE CAPABLE OF
PROVIDING SEVEN DAY PROGRAMMABLE TEMPERATURE SETTINGS, AUTOMATIC SETBACK AND
SHUTOFF AND OPTIMUM START AS REQUIRED BY 2018 WSEC SECTION C403.2.4.2
(OFF -HOUR CONTROLS). CONTROLS SHALL BE CONFIGURED TO PREVENT SIMULTANEOUS
HEATING AND COOLING.
2. REPLACEMENT SPLIT SYSTEM HEAT PUMP IS OF THE SAME TYPE AND OUTPUT CAPACITY.
3. THIS PROJECT MEETS THE 2018 WSEC MINIMUM EFFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS FOR COOLING
PROVIDED BY ELECTRICALLY OPERATED UNITARY AND APPLIED HEAT PUMPS PER TABLE
C403.2.3(2)A WITH A SEER OF 14.0, WHICH MATCHES THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENT OF 11.0
SEER FOR EQUIPMENT SIZE CATEGORY <65 MBH (UNITARY AND APPLIED HEAT PUMPS,
SPLIT SYSTEM).
MECHANICAL SCOPE
THE PROJECT IS FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF ONE (1) EXISTING SPLIT SYSTEM HEAT PUMP HVAC
UNIT. THE EXISTING SYSTEM HAS REACHED THE END OF IT'S USEFUL LIFE. THE NEW SYSTEM IS
THE SAME TYPE AND SAME NOMINAL OUTPUT CAPACITY:
1. DEMO THE (1) HP-1 EXISTING ROOFTOP HVAC UNIT & FAN COIL SERVING THE
RESIDENTIAL SPACE.
2. THE REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF THE EXISTING UNITS FROM BUILDING SHALL BE IN A
LAWFUL MANNER. RECLAIM EXISTING REFRIGERANT PER EPA STANDARDS; R-22 IS EXISTING
REFRIGERANT PER EQUIPMENT NAME PLATE DATA.
3. PROVIDE AND INSTALL ONE (1) ROOFTOP HP UNIT & (1) FAN COIL IN PLACE OF THE
EXISTING UNITS PER PLAN. NEW EQUIPMENT INCLUDES ELEC HEAT, ELECTRIC DX COOLING,
& BASIC ELECTRO-MECHANICAL CONTROLS.
4. DISCONNECT AND RE -CONNECT REPLACEMENT HP & FCU TO EXISTING ELECTRICAL
SERVICES. RE -USE EXISTING ELECTRICAL DISCONNECT WHERE PRACTICABLE. LINE VOLTAGE
WORK SHALL BE BY LICENSED COMMERCIAL ELECTRICIAN (UNDER SEPARATE PERMIT).
5. REUSE EXISTING THERMOSTAT AND CONTROL WIRING.
6. EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEM START-UP, TEST AND BALANCE, PROGRAMMING AND OWNER
TRAINING FOR NEW EQUIPMENT, 0&M MANUALS AND RECORD DRAWINGS.
7. THERE IS AN EXISTING ±48" HIGH PERIMETER PARAPET WALL SURROUNDING ALL OF THE
MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT ON THE ROOF. NO SCREENING IS NECESSARY.
