The Fire Alarm system will provide Automatic Detection, Manual Activation and Occupant Notification throughout the existing building as per the City of Edmonds & South County Fire's requirements. The Fire Alarm System will monitor the existing CLASS 1 Ansul Kitchen Hood for activation. Scope of work includes : Installation of a new Fully Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panel, (1) Addressable FACP Smoke Detector, (1) Addressable FACP Pull -Station, (13) Addressable Heat Detectors, (1) Addressable Monitor Module, (13) Occupant Notification Devices, (1) AES Radio Communicator, (2) Conventional Relays and (1) FA Document Cabinet. INSTALLATI❑N NOTES 1. Prior to calling for inspection, the installer shall provide documentation to the local AHJ stating that the system has been installed, tested, evaluated and confirmed to be in accordance with all governing codes and the approved plans. the fire alarm system installer shall complete an NFPA-72 record of completion (NFPA-72 10.18.2.1.1). The completed record of completion shall be provided to the AHJ inspector at the time of inspection (NFPA-72 10.18.2.1.2.4). 2. Instructions for the operating, testing and maintenance of the system, along with record drawings otherwise referred to as ("as -built") and equipment specifications shall be kept in the fire alarm document cabinet next to the FACP (NFPA-72 10.18.2.3). 3. All systems and devices shall be installed and tested per the manufactures listing and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (NFPA-72 10.14.2.1). Label all device locations containing EOL's. 4. FACP & all Remote Power Supplies require a dedicated 120vac 20amp circuit & a #12 true earth ground at the FACP. A notice placed in the FACP shall direct personnel to the location of the electrical panel that is supplying dedicated power to the system (NFPA-72, section 10.5.5.1). The dedicated circuit breaker that serves the Fire Alarm System shall be labeled and secured against tampering with a RED BREAKER LOCKOUT (NFPA-72, section 10.5.5.2). 5. Ceiling mounted strobes shall be placed and sized in accordance with (NFPA-72 table 18.5.4.3.1(b). 6. When more than two notification appliances are visible at the some time whether they are in the some room or adjacent space within the field of view, the flash of those strobes shall be synchronized (NFPA-72, section 18.5.4.3.2(3) & (4). 7. Pull -Stations shall be placed between 42 and 48 inches above floor level. Devices shall be red in color (ICC a117.1 309 & NFPA-72 17.14.5). 8. Fire alarm circuits to be installed/secured/terminated in accordance with NEC, NFPA-72, IFC and local AHJ requirements & standards. All wiring to be Free -Fly above 7' unless required by code. 9. The means of signal transmission to the supervising station shall be via the existing FACP's onboard dialer and the AES Radio Communicator. All signals shall be sent to the central supervising station for fire department dispatch. 10. Fire protection equipment room shall be identified with approved signs per IFC 509. (the site is responsible for all required signage.)
