The proposed mural for this section is a "Welcome to Edmonds" sign which incorporates scenes of Ed-
monds within the letters. The mural would fill the available wall surface of this section.
The mural will be painted using Novacolor Acrylic paint. Novacolor is specifically designed for exterior mural painting and is non -toxic. The wall will be washed and primed before painting and clear coated upon completion
using Novacolor exterior acrylic polymer varnish. The mural will be hand painted using brushes and rollers. No spray equipment will be used.

The proposed mural for this section incorporates a giant pacific octopus and crab in a fun, animated im-
age. The mural uses tromp I'oeil (a technique which uses paint to create the illusion of three dimensions)
to create depth to the wall surface. The octopus splashes out of it's tank and plays havoc with the painted
light fixtures while a fighting crab surveys the scene.
The existing wall color will be used as the primary background color for the mural.
