JULY 21ST 2021
Explanatory note
Presented below is the concept for the long west facing wall of Salish Crossing, located on the southern, west facing portion of the building. The concept draws from the name "Salish Crossing", using a nautical theme of a watery back-
ground and a compass dial which is rotated so that it accurately shows north and south on the building. In the center of the compass dial is a pearl, because Edmonds is the "pearl of the Puget Sound". The text reads "Explore Edmonds,
Come check out our other side" This is a welcoming suggestion to new arrivals by train or by ferry to explore the town which can be found on the "other side" (east of) of the building.
The mural will be painted using Novacolor Acrylic paints. This product is specifically designed for exterior mural painting and has excellent longevity. Upon completion the mural will be clear coated using Novacolor Exterior varnish. All
painting will be done using brush and roller, no sprayers will be used. The wall will be pressure washed before painting commences. Once completed no maintenance will be required other than simple washing if it gets dirty.
The proposed start date for the project is August 23rd (weather permitting). The project should take two to three weeks to complete. Work will be done between the hours of 7am and 6pm.
