It has come to the attention of the Building Division during a review of a tenant
improvement permit for Therapeutic Technology that toilet facilities for the subject
building may not be in compliance with the Codes.
The Uniform Building and Plumbing codes require separate female and male toilet
facilities when more than four persons are employed in a commercial building.
Usually, the toilets are provided in the main corridor, are accessible for handicapped,
and are available for use by all employees and customers. From the floor plan you
submitted, it appears that separate toilet facilities were provided at one time in the main
corridor but are now no longer accessible to the public or to all persons employed
within the building.
If each individual tenant provided separate female and male toilet facilities or the main
corridor toilet facilities were restored to their original compliance, then the building
would comply. Please provide additional clarification on this matter. If you have any
questions please feel free to call me at 771-0220.

Dear Mr. Hovde:
In response to your iquiry, we keep no ink of any kind
in our space in Harbor Square.
We do, however, have a dark room as part of our space.
The chemicals (developer, stop bath and fix) are not flamable.
The darkroom is vented, and has a power blower which efficivly
removes any fumes from this area.
Our space has no .,fire hazzards beyond those found in
any ordinary office.

As a result of a routine business license inspection it has come to the
attention of the building division that no tenant improvement permits
were obtained for completion of the second floor offices spaces.
Enclosed is a permit application which should be returned to the
building division with two complete floor plans, upstairs and
downstairs.
Also during the course of this inspection it was noted that the
proprietors of Downey Press Inc. have expanded and changed the nature
of their printing operation. The current operation requires a
ventilation system which complies with the provisions of the 1985
Uniform Mechanical Code. Plans for the ventilation system should be
provided to the building division and a permit is required for
installation. Also, any storage of flammables must be in accordance
with Fire Department standards.
Please contact the building division within 10 days date of this letter
regarding your intentions.
