Separator Water DisposalCollect and Empty Separator Water Use a 5-gallon bucket with a hole cut in the lid to fit the hose from the dry cleaning machine. Check every week to make sure the bucket doesn't overflow. Use secondary contain- ment to catch spills. Open the doors and windows and make sure your shop gets lots of fresh air when you pour the separator water into the waste drum. I Wear coveralls or an apron and disposable nitrile gloves to keep the separator water off your skin. Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes. .. Ig separator water into the waste drum, clean up separator water spills with paper towel and put them in the waste drum. After you seal the waste drum, put your used gloves into the gar- bage. — PERC causes cancer! — Do NOT breathe vapors! — Do NOT get it on your skin! Keep PERC out of our air and water! PERC can move through concrete and soil to contaminate our drinking water supply. A PERC cleanup can cost $100,000 to $1,000,000 on average.
