POLICY OF TITLE INSURANCE

in item 1 of Schedule A, together with the persons and corporations included in the definition
of "the insured' as set forth in the conditions and stipulations, against loss or damage sustained
by reason of:
1. Title to the estate, lien or interest defined in items 3 and 4 of Schedule A being vested, at the
date hereof, otherwise than as stated in items 2 of Schedule A; or
2. Any defect in, or lien or encumbrance on, said title existing at the date hereof, not shown in Sched-
ule B; or
3. Any defect in the execution of any instrument shown in item 3 of Schedule A, or priority, at the
date hereof, over any such instrument, of any lien or encumbrance not shown in Schedule B;
provided, however, the Company shall not be liable for any loss, damage or expense resulting
from the refusal of any person to enter into, or perform, any contract respecting the estate, lien
or interest insured.
The total liability is limited to the amount shown in Schedule A, exclusive of costs incurred by
the Company as an incident to defense or settlement of claims hereunder.
This policy shall not be valid or binding until countersigned below by a validating officer of the
Company.

CONSIDERATION OF ACQUISITION OF MEADOWDALE COMMUNITY CLUB
Mayor Harrison stated that the Meadowdale Community Club could be
acquired by assuming the $7,000.00 indebtedness they have. It was
moved by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Nordquist that the
Mayor be authorized to enter into negotiations with the Meadowdale
Community Club for the acquisition of the property for the $7,000.00
indebtedness. Motion carried. Councilman Nelson said we should
refer the use of the club to the Park Board.

In that letter I requested, as is my usual practice
when. representing the City of Edmonds, that the title
insurance policy be issued guaranteeing title in the City
of Edmonds immediately after recording of the deed rather
then a guaranty of title in the seller immediately prior
to recording of the deed. There should be no release of
funds until title is vested in the City of Edmonds and
that vested title insured by Pioneer National Title Insurance
Company showing title vested in the City.
With that understanding by carbon copy, of this
letter I am requesting the Chief Administrative Office of
the City of Edmonds, Donald C. Lawson, to issue a city
draft payable to Pacific Northwest Escrow Corporation In
the sum of $7,338.02 to cover the purchase price and all
closing costs including your escrow fees and prorated taxes.
