I have reviewed the photo, showing the notched floor joist, and find it to be an appropriate
adjustment to the floor system. Being on a support wall, the notches do not compromise the
structural integrity of the joist. I suggest that some blocking be installed between joists.
An additional photo appears to show a joist that butts into the rim joist with no support below.
Without proper baring area, I recommend that a joist hanger be installed.
I talked to Leo, the contractor, and he informs me that the blocking and joist hangers are in place.
