Due to the limited scope of work, we request the City accept the attached Request for Proposal in lieu of Architectural Plans. This Request for Proposal is intended to serve as the Scope of Work and "Construction Documents" for this project. This document includes details regarding installation sequence, flashing and sealant material specifications, and ventilation requirements. We submit this document to demonstrate conformance with 2018 IEBC and sound building practices, and welcome the City's review, suggestions, and corrections to assuage the Department that all guideliens will be met. All work will be overseen by Amento Group, in our capacity as Construction Manager, and will be performed by a Licensed Contractor. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you. You are requested to provide a proposal responsive to the repairs outlined below. DESCRIPTION: Provide itemized pricing for removal and replacement of two (2) windows at the east courtyard. The work shall include, but not be limited to: General Conditions and Bid Instructions. 1. Contractor is requested to provide pricing for the repair scope as described herein. The estimate shall include a detailed breakdown of the costs by scope item. 2. The estimate shall detail all general condition costs and mark-up for overhead and profit. Contractor shall visit the site and verify all site conditions. The attached Supplemental Photographs are provided for general purposes, but do not contain all applicable conditions. 4. The estimate shall exclude costs for a building permit. Owner shall submit for and obtain permits for all work as required by any governmental agencies. All work shall be carried out within regular business hours (defined as 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) unless otherwise agreed in writing by the parties. Contractor shall be responsible for temporary protections from dust, debris, and weather during the course of the work. Window Replacement. Location: Refer to the attached Supplemental Photographs for area of repair. Contractor to provide temporary vertical access, and weather protection as necessary to facilitate access and work during construction. Windows: Carefully remove, label, and store existing siding at windows for re -installation, where required to complete work. Replace all windows with new. Assume vinyl VPI Endurance Series. All new vinyl windows sizes, operations, and layout shall match original windows at each location. Remove and dispose of existing windows, associated metal flashings, and penetration flashings. Cleanly trim back existing window liners as needed to accommodate new window frame depths. Cut lines shall be straight and non -jagged. Properly prepare rough openings as required by penetration flashing manufacturer. Provide for FastFlash® penetration flashings at all openings. Provide sheet metal "L" back dam at R.O. perimeter to be embedded in FastFlash°. iii. Provide trickle vents as required by code. Install windows in accordance with manufacturer's installation instructions. Set new fenestration frame in sealant against metal "L" back dam. Wet - set windows in sealant, against metal "L" back dam, to achieve squeeze -out at backsides of frames against metal flashings. Tool and remove excess sealant at interior of window perimeters at liners; ensure wet -set sealants are continuous and free of voids. Integrate WRB with penetration flashings and window flanges to properly shed water. Coordinate install with Construction Manager. iv. Provide new 24 ga. pre -finished head flashing at fenestrations, with upturned end dams. Metal flashing to be integrated with FastFlash°, prior to WRB installation. V. Install new cedar trims and continuous backer rod and sealant (MasterSeal NP 150) joints between window frames and trims or siding reveals. vi. Install new continuous fillet sealant joints around windows, and between window frames and existing window liners. Paint liners following installation.
