Submittal Information GENERATORS AND PROPANE TANKS ONLY: Residential generator & propane tank permits require plan review. Please upload a site plan and documentation showing the following: • Title block showing: o- Site Address o- Owner's Name o- Contractor's information (if different than owner) • Location of generator or propane tank. • Indicate setbacks to: Property lines, sidewalks and streets. Other equipment such as air conditioners, heat pumps and gas meters. Openings into the home including doors, operable windows and vents. Combustible materials such as structures and vegetation. • Placement of the generator or propane tank must comply with the rear and side yard setbacks, is prohibited within the front yard of any property and cannot be within 10 feet of a road. • Specify the type of foundation as well as the method of anchoring for seismic and wind loads. In flood prone areas, show how the generator will be installed above base flood elevation. • Show all other equipment such as air conditioners, heat pumps, gas regulators, meters, and all combustibles. • Generator Specific: o- Exhaust port must be 5 ft. minimum distance from all building openings. o- Noise output levels as measured in decibels. Please refer to the manufactures' specification sheet. o- Generator's specifications and type of fuel used. a The generator must be approved by the manufacturer for its intended installation, application, and use. o In addition to the City of Edmonds mechanical permit, an electrical permit must be obtained through Washington State L & I. You will receive an email from us stating the status of your application. There are two possible outcomes for your application: 1. We will accept your application. 2. We will not accept your application, and we will tell you what we need to complete the application screening. You will have 30 days to submit the requested documents through your MyBuildingPermit.com Plan Review Dashboard. 3. Application acceptance for screening is not a determination of completeness. Re -submittals 1. Identify revised/added information by circling, noting, or otherwise consistently marking changes on the plans. 2. Include a response letter addressing each of the comments. 3. Submit your revisions to Permit Processing, not the reviewer, through your MyBuildingPermit. com Dashboard by clicking Submit Additional Files. 4. If your permit has not been issued, submit a full plan set. If the property contains or is adjacent to critical areas (streams and stream buffers, wetlands, floodplains, and geological hazard areas), additional information may be required.
