On site to observe post -installed anchors into concrete floor structure at the CSR non — load bearing type 1 shear
walls and special non -bearing type 2 shear wall as shown in the clouded area on drawing S02.01. Observed that
Simpson Strong Bolt 2 expansion anchors ( 1/2"-diameter by 3-3/4" length) were installed and torque verified at
60 foot-pounds at the bundled stud posts per detail 6/SO4.01, hold-downs type A per details 12 and 13 of SO4.01
and at jambs per detail 5/SO4.01. All anchors had the 2-3/4" effective embedment depth after specified torque
applied less (3) locations noted below:
• Due to three (3) anchors not taking hold, an additional metal stud was added, anchor relocated and
torqued with success at (2) locations, but at the third (3rd) location, in Passage Room 102, existing
reinforcing steel was encountered at less than 1-1/2" depth. This anchor was not installed. The contractor
will need to address this issue with the Engineer -of-Record (EOR).
To the best of our knowledge, the items inspected today are in conformance with approved plans and
specifications.
